Social / Community Outreach Organizations
Oregon Bears: a fraternal and social organization committed to fun and fundraising. Oregon Bears are inclusive and welcomes individuals of all colors, shapes, and sizes and from all walks of life. The club routinely organize events and activities to provide social enjoyment and camaraderie to its membership and members of the GLBTQ community. Whenever appropriate, its events may double as fundraisers for local LGBTQ charities.
Portland Frontrunners: a running club for lesbians, gays, bisexuals, transgender, and queer individuals and their friends in the Portland, Oregon area.
Portland Gay Men’s Chorus: The Portland Gay Men’s Chorus aspires to expand, redefine, and perfect the choral art through eclectic performances that honor and uplift the gay community and affirm the worth of all people.
Portland Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence: a fully professed house of the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, Inc.®. dedicated to the support, education, and development of the LGBT community. Part of the Order’s mission is to help other charitable organizations raise money. The Sisters help put the FUN back in fundraising.
Pride Northwest: The mission of Pride Northwest is to encourage and celebrate the positive diversity of LGBTQ communities and to assist in the education of all people through the development of activities that showcase the history, accomplishments, and talents of these communities.
Pivot: a community space dedicated to the health and wellness of all gay/bi men and trans* people and with a focus on sexual health and HIV. Pivot offers a variety of programming that is both social and educational in nature, a community and events space, as well as STD & HIV testing.
Q Center: a center that provides a safe space to support and celebrate LGBTQ diversity, visibility and community building.
SAGE Metro Portland / Friendly House: Friendly House provides a range of services for LGBT older adults with a mission to enhance the lives of LGBT community members through education, advocacy, outreach, resource development and case management. It is part of the SAGE network (Services & Advocacy for LGBT elders) as the Portland local affiliate, known as SAGE Metro Portland.

Cascade AIDS Project: Cascade AIDS Project is the oldest and largest community-based provider of HIV services, housing, education and advocacy in Oregon and Southwest Washington.
Political / Social Advocacy Organizations
Basic Rights Oregon: Basic Rights Oregon works to ensure that all lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender Oregonians experience equality by building a broad and inclusive politically powerful movement, shifting public opinion, and achieving policy victories. It is a member of the Equity Federation.
Northwest Gender Alliance: a non-profit social, support, and educational group for trans individuals, historically for those who identify themselves as transgender (TG), transsexual (TS) or as crossdressers (CD).
Northwest Rainbow Alliance for the Deaf: promotes solidarity and equality through advocacy and communication avenues to Deaf, Deaf-Blind, and Hard of Hearing lesbians, gays, bisexuals, transgender, queer and, intersexual (LGBTQI) individuals.
PFLAG Portland: Parents, Families & Friends of Lesbians & Gays (PFLAG) promotes the health and well-being of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender persons, their families and friends through support to cope with an adverse society, education to enlighten an ill-informed public, and advocacy to end discrimination and to secure equal human rights. PFLAG provides opportunity for dialogue about sexual orientation and gender identity, and acts to create a society that is healthy and respectful of human diversity.
Queer Dharma: a group for LGBTQ practitioners to study and practice meditation and Dharma and to discuss personal experiences.
The Community of Welcoming Congregations: an Oregon and SW Washington interfaith ministry and advoc organization working toward full inclusion and equality for transgender, lesbian, bisexual, gay and questioning persons.

PQ Monthly: PQ (Proud Queer) is a monthly print and daily online newspaper committed to representing LGBTQ communities in all their diversity. From news and culture to nightlife and opinion, PQ highlights underrepresented voices in both its Oregon and SW Washington-focused print publication, PQ Monthly, and on its blog.
